Enemies get in your way, and you beat them to death. You can jump into the game and immediately start marching toward the level cap. In some ways, Book of Memories delivers that, and in others, it's a total mess. I have no attachment to the Silent Hill franchise, and I've been craving a deep RPG-like experience on Sony's handheld. For lots of people, this is blasphemy, but for me, it's the setup I've been looking for. You aren't trying to run from the things that go bump in the night you're trying to run through them and collect their loot. You pick a character and go through level after level of nurses, butchers and creepy crawlers while hacking and slashing. Rather, Book of Memories is a multiplayer dungeon crawler. This isn't a tense, single-player adventure. Players will encounter items and Creatures culled from over a decade of Silent Hill lore, including a special someone who walks softly and carries a gigantic knife.Play Book of Memories is nothing like the Silent Hill games that have come before. Book of Memories is a macabre celebration of the best that Silent Hill has to offer. Scare rooms, limited resources, and dark atmosphere all return-but in a gameplay package specifically designed to take advantage of the PlayStation Vita. Players can work together as they explore several different Otherworlds, solving puzzles and defeating creatures to advance through the Nightmares and uncover the truth behind the Book of Memories. Book of Memories is a departure for the series, with a focus on co-operative multiplayer action rather than traditional Psychological Horror. You discover that by altering what's written you can actually change the past. The story begins with a strange book that is received, inside that book is your entire life story to this point, everything that's ever happened to you all of your memories. Book of Memories is an all-new game in the Silent Hill series, with a unique premise and storyline.
